“We are very happy to continue to reward our staff for their dedication to excellence,” said Fatih Ay, CEO of Harmony Public Schools. “Every year our 34,000 plus students consistently exceed state education standards. Our teacher’s hard work is recognized annually by major publications, such as US News Best High Schools, and noted children’s advocacy groups.”
In addition to a base salary increase of between $3,500 & $5,000, teachers will be awarded a stipend of $1,000 if they have between 5 and 9 years of classroom experience. Those with more than 10 years’ experience will receive $2,000. “We see this as an investment not only in our teachers but in our students as well,” Ay said.
The new salary schedule follows Governor Greg Abbott’s signing of the $11.5 Billion school finance reform package. Harmony chose to target additional funding into pay & benefits for teachers and staff. These increases have been presented to the HPS Board of Directors, and will be up for approval after receiving regulations from TEA.

In addition to compulsory attendance law, districts are required to enforce the 90 percent rule, which states that students in grades K-12 must attend class for 90 percent of the time it is offered to receive credit or a final grade. The 90 percent rule applies to all absences, including excused absences. Help us by making sure our students make it to school and arrive on time.
We are proud to announce that Harmony Science Academy – San Antonio has been announced the winner of the 2018-2019 Make Water challenge.
There are many water issues facing our planet and it’s easy to become overwhelmed. “Make Water” created a program that helps you pick a water challenge that is within reach and has real world impact. Each year they give students an open source water purification kit that can be tested in numerous ways called challenges.
HSA-SA will be having class photos tomorrow. We need all students in uniform as there will be no free dress. Seniors will be allowed to wear their black senior shirts for their class photos.
We are proud to say that we received a perfect score on our Health Inspection.
