Harmony Gifted & Talented Education

In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking nominations for all interested students in grades 1-12 for gifted and talented screening. Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment.

Nomination forms are available at the front office, or may be downloaded below. The forms must be returned to the front office by Friday, February 9, 2018. Assessment will begin on Monday, February 5, 2018. For more information about the screening and identification process, parents may contact the school’s GT Coach/teacher.

Attention Parents and Teachers,

Harmony Science Academy-San Antonio is now accepting gifted and talented nominations for returning and not tested in fall students in grades 6-12th for gifted and talented screening process. 

If your student was enrolled 2017- 18 school year and would like to be considered for GT testing, please fill out the nomination form located in the front office or on the school website. 

Parents and teachers may go online or pick-up the nomination form from your campus office. Last day of accepting nominations will be February 9th

***New students and any other students who tested in the fall of 2017 this school year are NOT eligible for testing ****

NWEA MAP WINTER TESTING January 22nd-February 2nd

Dear Parents/Guardians:
We give students MAP tests to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of Reading, Language, Math, and Science. Your child will take the tests on a Chromebook. MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. And with MAP tests, we can administer shorter tests and use less class time while still receiving detailed, accurate information about your child’s growth.
 *Please have your child to have a good breakfast and remind them to bring their Chromebooks to school fully charged.

TEA Accountability Summary For 2016-2017 School Year

Harmony Science Academy has done a very great job regarding to the TEA mandated standard testing. Not only Harmony Science Academy met standard, Student Achievement , Student Progress, Closing Performance Gaps, and Post-secondary Readiness it also got FIVE Distinctions from Social Studies, Mathematics, English Language and Arts, Top 25 Percent Student Progress, and Post-secondary Readiness
